View Full Version : video on cd-r not play back on dvd

Please help, i have edited my video and it is saved
as .wmv file, i have put on cd-r & cd-rw discs and it
will not play back on my DvD player, (i have captured it
back onto my camera and the tape plays ok) my DVD player
is a Toshiba and i cannot find any reference to it being
Highmat compatable does this mean i cannot play my video
on it?? can anyone tell me how i can get it to play??

You must use third party software and burn it as a VCD, SVCD or DVD.

Set top DVD's, even the current High-MAT models, cannot play WMV format
files (yet - You'll have to wait until early next year for that
functionality). You will need to convert to mpeg1 or mpeg2 first, and even
then it will only work if your DVD player can both read CD-R's and the VCD
(mpeg1) or SVCD (mpeg2) formats. Not all can...
