Dailing screen corrupts password

When I click box "do you want to keep password" when the
screen is presented for a new dailup connection the
password presented has been corrupted. It appears that
the password is always currupted to the same number of
caracters.

I am using windows XP home edition

This problem occurs to several of my friends.

Can you help find a solution?

The label on the windows box reads:

D13111-3-3-09202001 TEAM: SIN
Windows xp Home edition English INTL
MADE IN SINGAPORE

For security purposes, Windows XP will encrypt and change the length
of passwords. Your passwords are not corrupt.
