incompatible camera ??? need ideas

i have a jvc grd510 mini dv video camera - moviemaker does
not recognize this camera therefore cannot capture video.
any ideas?

Need more information. How are you interfacing to the computer? Thru
firewire or USB 2.0? Does any other software recognize the camera? Does win
xp recognize it in My Computer or under system/hardware/devices/multimedia?
