Your default e-mail problem I can't help you with as I
don't know what version of Office you use but I may be
able to help you with the Windows Messenger problem. I
get the same annoying pop-up myself and provided that you
don;t use it, it is easily possible to remove Windows
Messenger and so remove the pop-ups. (I suppose this
happens I haven't actualey tried it yet).
To remove Windows Messenger, go to Start>Control Panel
and select 'Add Remove Programs'. On the new windows that
appears, select the 'Add Remove Windows Components'
button on the left of the window. A new window opens up.
Scroll down to the bottom of this new window to where you
see the 'Windows Messenger' Icon and a small check in the
box on it's left. Then click 'Next>'. Windows removes
Windows Messenger. To re-install it, simply re-check the
checkbox and click 'Next>'. Windows may ask you to put in
your Windows XP CD.
