sign on window

i am very new and tend to mess up all the time. i have
some how changed the way my computer logs me on. i used
to get a window offering me either my e-machine 1700 or to
sign in to windows. now i'm just getting the windows
options with no way to work off line. can someone tell me
what i did or how to undo it? thanks
