Using dialup modem, outlook express. Is there an easy way
to prevent spam.

Hi Walt,
A difficult question. There are some things you can do to limit it, but
ultimately you need to treat it like the junk mail you get in the mailbox
and just toss it. Try not to use your real address when filling in on-line
forms, and read privacy policies carefully. Create a junk e-mail address
with a service like hotmail for that sort of stuff.
Try this from MVP Majik:

Or perhaps you could convince your ISP to invest in a service like
www.postini.com, though I am sure they will pass part of the cost on to you.

No. But you may want to try the MailWasher (http://www.mailwasher.net)
