Hi all - is it possible for me to FDISK my existing 98SE, reboot from the XP
Pro upgrade CD, and use my original 98SE CD as some kind of authentication?
Any special precaustions I should follow?

Many thanks in advance, Cindy

Boot from the Windows XP CD. The install program will ask for older media.
Put in the Win98 CD. When it tells you to, put in the WinXP CD. Continue.
Read the subsequent screens "carefully". You will be given the option to
choose where to install Windows XP (usually drive C:). You will be given the
option to format the partition prior to installing. Choose the full format
NTFS, unless you know for certain that your hard drive is 100% good.

Then, just continue and answer any questions that need responses!

You boot from the CD and do a clean install. No need to fdisk prior to the
clean install.
Click on or copy and paste the link below into your web browser address bar.
