Is it possible to play DVD films on XP laptop. I have
tried but it doesn't recognise the file?

To play DVDs on your PC, you must have
A DVD drive
DVD codecs usually supplied as part of the software by the PC manufacturer,
NOT part of any version of Windows... PowerDVD or WinDVD are the most
common.

You need DVD software in order to play a DVD.... this nearly always comes
with the DVD drive... either PowerDVD or WinDVD...... if you don't have
either, you don't have the correct codecs installed .... you can purchase
just the codecs...
