display problems

my granddaughter hit some keys on my laptop and now my
display is only about 3 or 4 inches wide and tall. I
cannot get it to go back to full screen unless I change
the setting to 1600 X 1200 pixels. I really need it back
to full screen and 800 X 600 pixels.

Can anyone tell me how to do it?

To make matters worse, I have been trying for days to fix
it and I have re-installed my Windows XP. Now I have to
re-activate it!!!! Which means another call to Microsoft
