I saved the MSWMM file to DV-AVI (a slideshow made in
Windows Moviemaker), am burning it in Roxio. Says it'll
take 2 disks, is there a way to condense it so I only need
one disk?

You do not burn the AVI file to Roxio.... you tell it to take the AVI file
and 'turn' it into a VCD, SVCD or DVD, whatever your burner is capable of.
It then reencodes it and makes it smaller.

I'm going to cry! I'm so sorry, I just am confused.
OK:
1. I saved my file from Windows Movie Maker on "My
Computer/My videos" as a DV-AVI file.
2. I open Roxio and create a "Data" cd, open up my AVI
file and burn it. But that's not correct? If not, how
exactly do I tell it to "take the AVI file and "turn"
it into a VCD" ?

In Roxio, choose 'other cd format' not 'data disc', then
select Video cd'.
