SP1a install failure.

Downloaded XP Sp1a (125mb). Failed installation, reason:
Setup could not verify the integrity of the update,inf. Make
sure that the Cryptographic service is running on the computer.
Need help. How to do this?

Thank you for your help.
Followed directions but no success.
Tried 5 times with XP home and 3 times with
XP pro Used second repair to reinstall xp and
no success. Tried to install Sp1a through Safe Mode,
no success. Perhaps my two non-certified applications
(which are working ok) create the problem?
Could burn Sp1a onto a disk, rhen fdisk, install
XP Pro without installing drivers for the non-
certified applications try to installSp1a from the disk.
Am fed up with MS (125mb update to an OS !!!)
Will just select critical Q updates.
