Display ghosting

when i openb a window there is a grey ghosting effect(it
darkens the area in a horizontal band across the screen)
text makes a horizontal grey line all the way across the
screen. How do i fix this thanks

What kind of monitor are you using? LCD or CRT? That happened to me not so long ago on my laptop. Eventually (after several agonizing days), the screen just displayed garbage. Good thing I was using a company-issued laptop so our technical support team jus
t replaced the monitor of my laptop with a new one.
