Using XP Home Edition - when I open folders on the Desktop
(set up for either single or double click) they now always
open in Search mode! The only way I can open a desktop
folder normally is by right clicking and then clicking
Open on the subsequent drop down menu.

What has happened? How can I change the default
attributes on desktop folders such that they open normally?

I am a reasonably experienced user but this beats me (must
be simple!). Any suggestions/help much appreciated ...
