I just bought a new Dell about 5 months ago, and I like to
use the mouse key function, but on this system, the mouse
keys run extremely slow compared to other computers I've
had, and now mouse keys is more an annoyance than a help.
Is this a Windows problem or a system and/or Dell problem?
Either way, does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this?
This is my first time using both a Dell computer and using
Windows XP, and I have never encountered this problem
before on other computers or on older versions of windows,
so I'm not sure which it is. Also, in the mouse keys
settings, I have the levels at their highest.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanx in advance!

One other thing: Is there a limit to how many posted
questions you are allowed to put on the boards? I've got
lots of questions for anyone willing and/or able to answer.
Thanx,

Hi, R411.
Your last question first...

Technically, this is a newsgroup, not a "board", but that shouldn't make
much difference. You got here via the "web-based interface", or Microsoft
Communities; many of us use the newsreader in Outlook Express. No matter
how we got here, we are all in a peer-to-peer newsgroup. This is NOT
Microsoft tech support. Some of us have been on this learning curve longer
and like the chance to pay back for helpful advice we received along the
way. No, there's no limit to the number of questions.
We ask only common courtesy - what we often call Netiquette. Before you
post the first time, read a few messages to get the flavor of the place. In
the process, you just might find that your question has already been asked -
and answered - maybe several times. We do get frustrated answering the same
"how do I get IE to open in a large window?" over and over when the poster
could easily have found the answer just by scanning a few message headers.
Since we are all volunteers, don't be surprised if you don't get an answer
in 10 minutes; we may be busy at our real jobs or answering other questions.
And don't be surprised if we disagree with each other sometimes; we have
different backgrounds and perspectives.
And, please, read the Help file so that you know the basic rules of the
newsgroup. Learn how to find the answers to your posts. Learn to use Post
Reply rather than New Post so that your new response gets added to the
existing conversation, rather than start a new one with "I tried that".
That's enough of that. Welcome to the newsgroup. Just remember: In a
newsgroup, we all learn from each other. When you see a chance to help
another questioner, jump in!
Now, after all that, I'm sorry, I don't know the answer to your mouse key
question. I haven't used that function. :>( But, chances are, somebody
who can help will be along soon. ;<) You might find a better or quicker
answer about your Dell on the Usenet newsgroup: alt.sys.pc-clone.dell
