If you are talking about the icon that opens the pop-up to
the shortcuts on your desktop, it is part of quick
launch. Right click on the taskbar, next to any icons
that are there and it should open up a pop-up that allows
you to select DESKTOP. On mine PC, the actual icon shows
up on the other end of the taskbar, near the clock. If it
is not among the choices for quick launch, I believe you
have to create a shorcut and put it in the quick launch
folder. You might be able to create it on the desktop and
drag it to the taskbar.
