I cannot get my windows xp to give me a welcome screen.
I go to the control panel, click user accounts, then i
click change the way users log on and off, then I get an
error message that says:

"A recently intalled program has disabled the welcome
screen and fast user switching. To restore these
features, you must uninstall the program. The following
file name might help you identify the program that made
the change: C:\WINDOWS\System32\awgina.dll"

If anyone has encounterd this or anyone knows what
program this goes with. Please let me know. I have not
installed any new programs since my upgrade. THe only
thing I have done is downloaded the updated from the
windows website.

Thank you ,

Guru

Hi

Click Start, Run and enter REGEDIT.
Go to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\Current Version\WinLogon.
In the right pane, right click on the entry for GinaDLL and select Delete

Greetings --

Awgina.dll is an essential component of Symantec's pcAnywhere. Do
you have pcAnywhere installed on your PC? If so, what specific
version? The newest, WinXP-compatible version can be configured to
allow the use of the Welcome Screen.
