Hi, I have just installed Windows XP. When I went to
check my mail on outlook express all my mail was gone.
How do I get it back or am I just out of luck? If anyone
can help, please post a reply.

Thank you,
Jan

This must be the SECOND most posted query in HISTORY after "OE denied access
to the following attachment........."

You will probably get a faster and more expert answer if you post this to an
Outlook Express news group.

Try posting in one of these newsgroups:
microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie5.outlooke xpress for OE 5.x
microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie55.outlook express for OE 5.5x
microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie6_outlooke xpress for OE 6.x
microsoft.public.internet.outlookexpress.mac for OE for Macintosh

If those groups aren't carried on the news server that's carrying this group
try using msnews.microsoft.com (MS's public news server that's the source
for all the microsoft.public newsgroups).

A good website for information on OE is:
http://www.tomsterdam.com/

They are Not lost but relocated after the upgrade, you can point OE to
the new location or import it:

To find old mail:
1. Start, Find files and folders and look for *.dbx files on C:

To Point OE to new location
1. In OE, goto Tools, Options, Maintenance, Storage Folder and browse
for your old mail, usually in C:\Documents and Settings\ somewhere.

To import old mail:
1. In OE, open File, Import, Messages, select version of OE used in
98/Me (4,5 or 6)
2. Select Import from a OE store directory
3. Browse for folder your email is stored in
