I just formatted my computer a day ago to get rid of
garbage in my system and when I re-installed windows, the
Show Desktop button was not in the Quick Launch. I know
there are other ways to switch to the desktop but I used
the button all the time and it is proving to be quite the
pain not to have it. If anyone knows how to get it back,
please email me, for, I do not come here often enough to
check to see if anyone has replied...
P.S. i already tried to search the windows/system folders
to try to find the button in there, but it is not.
Please Help.

Restore Show Desktop Icon to Quick Launch on Taskbar If the Show Desktop
icon is deleted from Quick Launch, the procedure below will recreate the
file.
Open Notepad and enter the following text:
[Shell]
Command=2
IconFile=explorer.exe,3
[Taskbar]
Command=ToggleDesktop
Save the new file as Show Desktop.scf then drag and drop the icon on the
Quick Launch bar or whatever location you want the shortcut to appear.

You're welcome. I just pointed you to the fix, nothing special on my part.
