I have no clue as to what has happened but every time I
try to open a document or spreadsheet I get this error
(Microsoft Visual Basic)
Compile error in hidden module: autoexec
I've looked through many newsgroups etc. but no solid
fix. I've posted this in the Microsoft office newsgroup
also but no answers or help.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You probably installed an accounting program. You can ignore it.=20
To do word , Tools menu - Templates and Addins. Rename any file listed =
one by one till the error stops.

thanks for helping out David. Problem is I haven't loaded
any new software. I did forward some documents from work
but they're virus free. I did hear and may suspect Norton
Anti virus program.

The message as is makes no sense. There should not be anything being
compiled under normal circumstances. What are you trying to open these docs
and spreadsheets with?
