You know all those icons on the bottom right hand side? Programs that load
in the background on start up? How do you stop them loading? In particular I
want to stop Messenger loading.

Hi Phillip,

Check the program settings first. Also check options within Outlook and
Outlook Express to disable it from loading. Then start/run msconfig, check
the services and startup tabs.

As Rick says, Check the program settings first. DO NOT USE THE REGISTER
unless you really know what your doing. And, with respect, I don't think you
are yet up to that point. - Believe me, many are not, tweak them and then
wonder why they have problems. BIG problems usually too.
