I want all folders to be "details." O go... tools/Folder Options/View
and click "Like current" but it doesn't seem to have any effect. The
current folder even changes back after clicking a few other folders.
What am I doing wrong?
Thanks

Hi,
After clicking the Like Current Folder, and then hitting OK, did you try
closing all your opened Windows Explorer windows? And then opening it again
to see if the directories shows in the details view?

I can't understand what your tweaks man suggests. I found another "fix."
In the registry delete all keys bags and bagsmru. Create DWORD keys of
BagsMru Size in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\software\microsoft\Windows\Shell and
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\software\microsoft\Windows\Shell NoRoam. I have gone up
to 5000 dec in size and still no change in behavior. The registry pretty
much "fixes" itself on re-boot.
Why doesn't XP have a fix for this? Why are we grasping at straws? Why
am I dinging around in the registry to fix what should be a normal part
of the system? It reminds me of DOS 1.1 in 1982 when I first encountered
Microsoft.
