I must have left computer on over night and this morning I pressed the
computer start button. I got unusual panel giving me my name and asking for
I believe an administer password. Not having any recollection of that I
pressed enter and all that came up was my windows screen. I powered computer
off and then powered on and startup and everything was normal so I am back
in business. It is a Dell 8200 with windows xp home. Can someone tell me how
I can get my password? Thought perhaps I was going to have to call Microsoft
or Dell.
TIA
Dan

Hi Dannie,

Unless you created an Administrator password, it should be <blank>. You can
always reset it by entering "control userpasswords2" from a start/run
prompt, go to the advanced tab and click the advanced button. You can then
select the users folder, right click the account and choose the option to
"set password".
