View Full Version : Cannot close Internet Explorer????!

Using XP Pro & IE6.
I had a problem recently with Pop Up's and eventually stopped the final one
by using Spybot. Since then I find I cannot close some pages/windows in
IE6. Some will close but I always have to CTRL ALT DEL to finally shut down
Internet Explorer.
I appreciate that Spybot has done some damage, but it was worth it to get
rid of a pop that appeared in EVERY internet page I went to, I had tried
literally every trick in the book to stop it happening.
Anyway back to my reason for posting, is there a way to repair/reinstall IE6
to stop this window closing problem?
Thanks
Graham

Alt+PF4 does the trick. The reply below does nothing.

alt+f4 is a basic procedure and it does nothing if the browser has real
problems (if noclose registry key exists)
