screensaver problem

Just recently when the system is idle and goes to screen
saver, i return to find a message "verifying DMI pool
data . . . Update success - disk boot failure, insert
system disk and run ". is the screen saver software
corrupt and how can i fix. if if have to reload XP, how
do i overlay so i don't have to re-format drive.
