Fabrizio,
Without any hardware upgradation, I can suggest defragmentation of your Hard
Disk drives at regular intervals to speed up applications and general usage.

Do regular system maintenance, i.e., disk cleanup and defragment, etc. Check
the Task Manager to see if anything is running that is using a lot of
resources.
One of the things that really slow down a computer is adware and other
malware. download and run the following.

I was amazed at what a difference there was in my PC the first time I used
them
