hi
when i am trying to install external rw-cd rom via usb
port, windows asked for usb driver. could anyone help to
find out the driver.

Hi
If it is a new device, it 'should' have come with the appropriate USB =
driver - probably on a CD. You will have to put that CD into your CD =
drive and then follow the on-screen instructions to install the driver. =
If the device didn't come with any USB drivers you may have to check the =
manufacturer's web site to download the drivers.
If you post back with the make and model number of the device, someone =
may be able to help you.

Are you trying to install a USB2 device on a USB 1.x port?

Check the cd rw manufacturer's website for an updated driver for Win XP.
Download and install the new driver and your burner should work fine.
