If you have a vid card installed, make sure that it's not overheating. I had a similar problem in my computer and it was due to the vid card overheating. If you have some other cards hooked up near it, try to put them in different slots so the vid card c
an have more space to dissipate the heat.

hey, well i just was able to get down the entire error message before my comp restarted. an error pops up when it crashes/freezes some of the time.. there is some stuff in the top of the screen, just some talking about video shadowing and such. (they have
been turned off in the bios already) and then it says Technical Info:
***STOP: 0x0000008E (0xC0000005, 0x80534DE3, 0xF3E3B824, 0x00000000)

and that is the end of the technical stuff..i tried to move the stuff, i have a dlink wireless card for my router.. lessee if i can lay this out for you. i have 3 PCI slots. if you are looking down at them, the video card (GeForce FX 5200 128 mb ddr) is in
the slot that is furthest to the right. and my wireless dlink card(DW 514+), is in the middle slot. the vid card works in any slot. if i move the wireless dlink card, then windows wont even start loading. the computer will go through showing my system stu
ff like the mother board and how much ram i have, and go through the process of checking to see if there is a cd to load windows from. then Windows XP wont even load. i just get a black screen after the computer checks to see if there is a cd in the drive.
please help.. i have had to restart my computer because of it crashing/freezing around 10 times in the last 1/2 hour. it is starting to get really really annoying... thanks for your help in advance..

I searched on Microsoft's Knowledge Base to see if I can find a fix for the error numbers you gave me, but I didn't find a specific one. The problem you might be having could be related to hardware problems, such as defective hardware or hardware incompat
ibility with Win XP, because I read a few articles on KB that concerned with hardware problems. I would tell you to search on KB with the error number you posted.

bah sorry... i pressed the wrong button. well what i was going to say, was that i was attempting to play my game, (FFXI) and i got this error message:
BAD_POOL_CALLER

*** STOP: 0x000000C2 (0x00000007, 0x00000CD4, 0x00000000, 0x8226B900)

then after the memory dump was complete, the words came up saying something about contacting the system admin or manufacturer or something along those lines..

i got this error at startup earlier today when just looking at these newsgroups:

*** STOP: 0x00000024 (0x001902FA, 0xF7748808, 0xF7748508, 0xF7598F3B)
*** Ntfs.sys - address F7598F3b base at F7578000, datestamp 3d6dE5C1

so yea, if you can help me on any of those to see what is going on, i would appreciate it. im going to see if i can take my computer in to let the people at the comp store look at it since it is still under warranty until the end of this month. maybe somet
hing is wrong with the motherboard or something. i dont know, but if it is they will replace it. and if needed or if you guys think that it would help, i could try reformatting because i havent done much yet since i installed windows except try and get it
to work properly. thanks again :)

You said earlier that you had updated the drivers, did those updates come
from Windows Update or from the hardware manufacturer. If they came from
Microsoft, that may be part of the problem.
