Head to www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm
I don't recall which line it is but there is a fix in
there to get rid of the message notification.

two accounts. one as admin and one as local user. i have
one e-mail account through comcast.net. i am having some
problems with getting e-mail. when somebody sends me an e-
mail i get it only on one account (either user account or
admin account) .since i have the same e-mail account isnt
i am suppose to get the same e-mail on both of my
accounts. we'll anyway, i called comcast and they told me
its a microsoft xp issue. i called microsoft and they
told me they cant help me. i called my computer support
guy at dell and he told me its a outlook express
configuration issue and he cant support outlook express.
So is anybody out there knows how to configure the
outlook express so that i can get my e-mails on both
accounts Since its the same and only e-mail address .

Go into Tools>Accounts. then the properties of an account. Under the
advanced tab. Check the box in the "delivery" section to leave the
messages on server. And, to remove messages after X number of days
(You determine how many days is right for you ). The default OE
settings are to remove the messages from the server. So, the first
machine to check for mail, gets the messages. Then call Dell and ask
for yech you talked to and make sure he knows he's an Idiot! Same for
Comcast
