i have installed two windows xp operating systems on my
notebook how the hell do i get rid of the first one
without damaging the other

Are you sure, it may have just duplicated the menu item twice.
Run MSCONFIG.EXE and on Boot.ini select 'Check all Boot Paths'
to remove duplicate items or edit c:\boot.ini in Notepad.
Otherwise if you installed in C:\Windows and in C:\Winnt then delete
the OLDEST Windows folder. (Do a backup first)
