When logging into one account Windows Explorer is beig
opened automatically as part of the start-up. How is
this turned off (i.e. auto open eliminated)?

Check your startup settings to find out what is causing this.
Applications that start with Windows can be found here:
- the WIN.INI, section [windows], entries "run=" and "load="
- the Registry keys
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Run
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Run
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\RunServices
- the folders
C:\DOCUMENTS AND SETTINGS\ALL USERS\START MENU\PROGRAMS\STARTUP
C:\DOCUMENTS AND SETTINGS\{username}\START MENU\PROGRAMS\STARTUP

Dave,

What is the full path-name of the folder which appears in the explorer window?

You may see the full path name in either the title-bar or the address-bar of this folder, depending on how your Windows Explorer is
configured.

If neither of those items indicates the full path, then right-click on any file or folder name displayed within that window, then
click | Properties |.

This will open a Property Sheet dialog box for the file-name which you had just right-clicked.

On the second line of that box is an item...
Location: d:\Path\to\that\file\which\you\clicked

The text to the right of "Location:" may be highlighted by using the left mouse button, and then copied to the clipboard by
right-clicking the highlighted text, and then clicking | Copy |.

(1).. "SB Audigy 2" sound card
(2).. "My Documents"
(3).. Folder was open at a previous logoff
(4).. Corrupt entry registry keys
(5).. Invalid Shortcut

Run msconfig and find Windows Explorer - uncheck it.
