My sound card , is a pnp model , though there is a sound
card on board my computer mainboard. it has run fine thru
win 98 , now that I have winxp it played fine yesterday,
then today After installing Diablo2 expansion under XP my
sound has died and I'm unable to get any sounds. I even
reinstalled the sound drivers for the on-board sound card-
no sound. Then I tried the sound dirvers for the stand
alone card and still no sound , what gives. I only
started using XP yesterday, after using win 98 for the
last 10 yrs . This sucks great wind. can anyone help
PLEASE !!!!!!

You were using Windows 98 10 years ago were you? That's funny, 10 years ago
the rest of the world was still running 3.1. How did you manage to obtain an
OS five years before it was released? As for your sound, have you tried
rolling back to before you installed Diablo? Have you downloaded and
installed the LATEST driver for your card?

Greetings --

I blame our public schools. They're putting too much emphasis on
"self-esteem" and not enough on simple mathematics.

So, how old is the sound card? Hardware does fail, you know.
