New computer has Xp home edition on it. I prefer the classic view in
the start menu.
I would like to automatically delete the entries for the Recent
Documents menu like I was able to in Win98. It seems you can disable
the Recent Documents feature in the standard view of the Start Menu but
when you switch to Classic View this option disappears.
In Win98 the entries were stored in a directory "\windows\recent" and it
was a simple matter to delete them with a command in the autoexec.bat
file with the command "echo y | del c:\windows\recent\*.*".
I know you can right click on start, click on properties, click on
customize and click on clear document menu, but this is a pain compared
to the simplicity of the procedure in Win98.
I have been unable to find an equivalent of the "\recent" directory in
Xp. Is there one where I can do in Xp as I did in 98?
Thanks for your help.
