View Full Version : how do you use xp to make phone calls?

Hello,

I posted this in outlook, but I would like to ask here to see if I can get a
more concrete idea of how this is done.

I would like to know how you make phone calls from your computer using xp
home. I need step by step information like how do you use a headset, and
where it would be plugged in ...very basic please. my goal is to go to
outlook contacts and dial with the computer so that I can create a log.

I have tried it and the phone dialer works but I plug my headset with mic
into the speaker jacks for the appropiate speaker and mic connections, but I
hear nothing. I have tested this out on my cell phone. I have the computer
dial and my cell rings, but you can't hear anything on the phone when I try
to talk into my mic. I assume I am missing something.

Greetings --

You start by purchasing and installing software that designed for
the purpose (WinXP, as an operating system, is not), and then
following the instructions that come with the specific application you
purchased.
