Hello group,
I'm having an issue, and perhaps you can help:
I am running WinXP Pro on my new Dell, and I'm the only one in my household.
Obviously I have administrator privileges on the pc. So, why, each time I
power up the Dell, I get a screen that tells me "to begin, click on your
user name." I'm the only user - why is XP asking me to do this, and how do I
get rid of this step?
Thanks in advance for your help.
Jeff

Hi Jeff,
Much easier than editing the registry:
Start/run control userpasswords2
Uncheck the box requiring a username and password, click apply/ok and follow
the prompts to set up a default logon.
