If no error messege, skip down to options.
Just a thought, I installed WinXP home edition and SBC DSL
(pac bell software)on my brand new self built computer and
the software for the dsl service is not compatible with
Win Xp. I recieved a messege "cannot find ccd.exe"
and "corrupt files". My dvd and cd drives and internet
connection failed. This was after I had been using it. I
had to call sbc 6-1-1 technical support to fix it.
If you get error messeges find out what "program" the file
damaged is from. You can search for it under search for
all files, but you have to know which file you are looking
for. When found try to identify which program it belongs
to and repair off that disk.
options:
I can only think of 3 options, but I am not a tech.
Can you restore from system restore option, to last known
correctly workoing date???
or
Repair or remove damaged file and program.
or
Re-install drivers for cd and dvd from your system disk
(or appropriate disk)or some files can be downloaded on-
line (nvidia.com offers "nvdvd", or fileplanet.com has a
dvd under software). NOTE: the system disk is not usually
the windows xp disk unless it combines both.
If I can find an easier way I'll let you know. Be careful
cause I can't be responsible for your computer, just
trying to give some ideas.
