Thanks

Just the same way you did orginally. Should it not go through on the
internet, use the Activate by Phone option.

Connect to the internet.

Then, go to Start > Run, and type:
oobe/msoobe /a
Click OK.

Sam, Give it a week or so before you actually activate. This will give you
time to access that everything is working ok before activation.

Why can't you post properly or write properly?

Well, that's just real clever you know. Had I ****ing well remembered how I
did it before I wouldn't be ****ing asking how to do it again, would I?
Don't give up your day job in the sanitary department.

Do yourself a Google search for Reset 5.01 and never bother to
activate or reactivate.

Would I still be able to get Windows Updates if I do that?

Possibly but probably not. If you're legal, another words you have a legal
copy of XP, there's no point in doing it and doing so will leave you open to
the possibility that at some point you won't be able to activate or get
updates. Activation is simple and easy, an automatic part of installation.
It's nothing more than a handshake between two computers over the Internet.
Ordinarily, it will take you less time to activate than it did type in the
CD code. You can activate XP as often as you want on the same computer.

If you change enough hardware, instead of Internet activation, you may be
asked to make a phone call. In that case, simply inform the operator of
changes you've made and you will be given a new code over the phone.
