On boot-up, my computer shows two, successive, Found New Hardware Wizard
windows, which I would like to get rid of but can not.
One says this Wizard helps you install software for Base System Device,
the other says it helps install software for ATM Network Controller.
I am not trying to install anything on this stand-alone, desktop, XP
computer.
In Device Manager, I have yellow question marks for Other Devices, Base
System Device and for ATM Network Controller. The message in each case
is Status: not configured correctly (Code1).
I have had this computer for just a couple of weeks, and Base System
Device and ATM Network Controller were installed on receipt. I have no
idea what they are. They did not create Found New Hardware windows until
two days ago, when they were clicked on by a telephone engineer
investigating a possible line fault - I don't know if the one is the
cause of the other.
What should I be doing to get rid of these unwanted Found New Hardware
windows please?
