I had two computers networked together both running
windows 98. Then I bought, installed, and activated the
XP upgrade on one. Is there a way to get another
activation code for my second computer, or do I have to
go out and buy a second upgrade?

You can use the same Windows XP "retail, upgrade" installation
CD to upgrade your other computer. But you must purchase=20
a second license (Product Key) for the second installation.
To purchase an additional Windows XP license, visit:

I'm fairly sure you can purchase another license from Microsoft. Don't know
anything about pricing, and can't find the webpage explaining the procedure,
but pretty sure it can be done.

You can get a second license from MS, but I see it is now cheaper to
purchase the whole retail upgrade for the major discounters.

Yes, go to this link
http://shop.microsoft.com/Referral/ProductInfo.asp?siteID=11052&typeID=6#
and enter either your Product ID code, or your XP activation code to see
if you qualify for an additional license. If you do, you'll be able to
buy another activation key without having to buy a complete upgrade package.

This may however, prove to be more expensive than buying another copy
from a discount vendor!
