Hi, I want to rename a system folder, but a dialog appears
and says its a windows system folder and can't be renamed.
The person I need to rename no longer uses this computer,
so I want to add my name, but I am concerned about
networking problems. Any comments or book referrals about
customizing my computer would be helpful.

Hi Andrea,

To properly add an account in Windows XP, please refer to the following:

HOW TO Create and Configure User Accounts in Windows XP
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;279783

If the person that no longer uses the computer, you can remove the User
Account by deleting the account from the User Account Control Panel. It will
ask you if you want to keep the files.

Hope this helps,
Thanks,
