I'm not sure what you might have done when you "unloaded, reloaded, disconected and reconnected the printer" but try really cleaning things out with the directions from MVP Cori Bright: http://www.coribright.com/windows/Article%20One.htm

Yeah, if you reloaded your OS with your printer still connected to the
computer then you'll have to uninstall the printer completely like above
link. When you install the driver again, LEAVE the printer disconnected
untill the install is complete then reconnect the printer..........

Yeah, if you reloaded your OS with your printer still connected to the
computer then you'll have to uninstall the printer completely like above
link. When you install the driver again, LEAVE the printer disconnected
