Can't Get Sound System Working

I have been through and through my system but have no sound coming from my
speakers. I have no idea why, the speakers worked before moving from
another state.

This sounds silly, but I've done it myself: make sure you've plugged the
speakers into the output jack of the sound card, not input or mic or
anything else. Also, do the speakers have power?
