View Full Version : Using Zonealarm Pro on XP Network

Hi All,
I am repeating this question because this newsgroup froze on me and I had to
reload it, and the previous attempt at asking this question did not get
loaded down to me.
I am running Zonealarm Pro on the XP gateway in a peer to peer home n/w
consisting og W98 and other XP clients.
1. Does the ZAP provide "protection" for all the clients or just the gateway
(I/N access) on which it is loaded
2. Do I need to install ZAP on all the other peers in the n/w
3. If so do I need a new licensed copy of ZAP for each peer

The entire network is hardened. ICS, assuming that's what you're using, uses
NAT so the inner network is hidden regardless. However outbound monitoring
at the application level can only happen on a machine running ZAP or other
firewall.

If you want outbound monitoring, yes. However, getting firewalls correctly
configured on inner networks is tricky. If you go this route be ready for
some frustration until you get things setup correctly.

Check the EULA for ZAP or ask Zonelabs directly.
