cannot run" audio/video config guide"

My MSN Messenger6.1 shows "audio/video config cannot run now" when I try to use web cam.
But I can receive video signal from others.
And I don't meet this problem while I'm using messenger4.7
The system on my computer is XP pro without sp1, and it is a simplified_Chinese edition.

I don't have a definite answer for you, but what camera/video device are you trying to use?

It's a PC camera which is made in China, and I guess that device works well because I can't any problem when I use windows messenger 4.7
