my pc has had windows 98 se for a couple of years. I want to install windows
xp professional. Any pointers will be deeply appreciated

1. Always use the Upgrade Advisor tool when you insert your XP CD.
2. Backup all your data in case the upgrade goes wrong.
3. Uninstall any software the Advisor thinks is incompatible esp. CD
Writer and AntiVirus and some Disk tools
4. Make sure you have drivers for your hardware esp. h/w bought since
Oct '01
