I don't know much about computers and I have a new Dell.
with Windows XP. I thought I wanted to down load
Hotbar.com to get the emotion icons. I started to
download but then I got worried and I tried to stop it. I
seemed to keep running. I didn't want to give my personal
info., but I couldn't get the info box off my screen.
Finally, I cllicked Ctrl and Alt. and Delete and I think
I stopped the application. Now I have a little window on
my screen that says taskmgr. exe. -Application Error. It
says the application failed to initialize properly
(0xc0000142). Click OK to terminate the application.
I've clicked OK and nothing happens. It won't go away. I
can't even see what I'm type now because the window is
blocking it. I also tried to get hep from Microsoft
Support.com and I read where a worm may have been
starting there. So now I'm really worried and I don't
know what to do. I don't want to just leave my screen on
with this window. Can someone please advise me? Thank you
very much.

Hi Dee,

Move your cursor to the right or left edge of the task manager window and
double-click it. This should allow you to access to the controls to close
it.
