View Full Version : Folder Options

Can somebody, please, please help me with something that's "doin my head
in"? I'm sure it's not a big question for you experts out there....

Let me tell you what I do, then what I want.......

What I do:
1. I'm in Outlook Express (or PaintShop Pro)
2. I right-click on a picture in the preview window
3. A folder dialog box appears in the "Thumbnail" view

I want the folder dialog box to ALWAYS give me the "Details" view. If I
change the view to the "Details" view, that's fine, but next time I open
or save a picture, it again gives me the dialog box in "Thumbnails"
view.

I cannot find any options that will ALWAYS default the folder dialog box
to the "Details" view.

Interestingly, I've found that if I change the view to "Details" in
Windows Explorer, then it does remember the view for next time I access
the folder but not in any other software, specifically OE or PSP.

Anybody able to help....?

Thanks,
Martin

No way. One cannot save settings for these dialogs, so you have to
adjust the view for each new window manually.

While there's no way to do what you want using just Windows, you might want
to try using the Browse With PSP option on the right click menu. This opens
a selected folder in PSP and displays any of the residing image files that
PSP can read in thumbnail view. Use this feature as a "catalog" while
working in other programs to locate and select the desired images.
