View Full Version : Instant Support Startup

When I log on I get a globe in my task bar called Instant
Support. I don't want it until I need or want support.
How/where do I stop this from starting when I turn on my
computer?

Hi Warren,
Start/run msconfig, check the startup tab for an entry you can uncheck.

Thanks Rick. I have been going into msconfig but I don't
recognize the name of the program that is launching
Instant Support. Can you tell me the program name please.

Hi Warren,
Not without knowing more about your system. Start/run msinfo32, expand the
software environment and click on the startup programs. Click once in the
right-hand pane (where the programs are listed), then click edit/select
all/edit/copy.
Open a response to this post, click once in the text area, hit ctrl+v to
paste the startup group for examination and send it.

Hi Warren,
Funny, it's the very first line, the one that refers to pchbutton.exe. This
is the one you need to disable. Check again in msconfig/startup tab for a
line to:
c:\progra~1\instan~1\presario\xphnars3en\plugin\bi n\pchbutton.exe
