menu scrolls down in Word and FrontPage

I did something sometime that I can't seem to undo now
and it is annoying. When I click on a menu title
like "File" "Edit" etc., the items in the that menu
scroll down onto the screen rather than instantly
appear. This wastes time and is frustrating. In the
Control Panel I have unchecked the box for scrolling or
fade effects in the box in the Control Panel under
Display>Appearance>Effects where it says "use the
following transition effect for menus and tool tips"

Please send me an email directly also lest I not find
this newsgroup again for a while.

Right click on "My Computer", select the "Advanced" tab, under "Performance"
select "Settings", take the check out of "Fade or slide menus into view",
click OK, click OK again. I think that should do it.
