Hello All!

I've got a Dell 8600 laptop with no floppy drive. However, I _do_ have a
USB flash disk. Is there any way to get the ASR utility to write the
backup information to the USB disk instead of a floppy drive?

I've got to say that in this day it's kinda weird that MS hasn't developed
something other than a floppy based recovery system, given that more and
more systems are shipping w/o floppy drives.

Anyway, if anyone has any ideas I'd appreciate it. Thanks!

No. This is a very basic feature and not customizeable. You could try
to find some third-party software that does what you want.

It won't do you any good to have ASR on the USB drive if your system
can't boot from a USB drive. CDs are still best for booting.

So, can you create a boot CD instead of a boot floppy with ASR?
