installing w98 software

I've just bought a new pc, running windows xp. Can I do any harm by trying
to install some of my old w98 software? I've already done a search on the
group past postings which convinces me there's no point in trying to install
Norton Systemworks 2000, but I have a lot of other w98 which I would like to
still use.

jim,

you may install some of your old win98 software in xp. most, if not all, of
them will work. even microsoft office 95 will work with winxp.
